 4 THINGS TO DO IN ORDER TO HAVE A WORKING BUSINESS TEAM

A business is a progressive mandate. As a business person there will come a time when you will need a helping hand in order to push your business to a success. Hence the need to have a business team that will be assign some functions to do, toward achieving your goals and objectives.

There are 4 cardinal points to consider for you to have a successful business team toward achieving your set goals.

·       Define the roles clearing

‘where duty is not known; abuse is inevitable’-anonymous. It is not enough to assemble your team, neither is it enough to integrate them into the business vision. Until your team knows their respective roles, success is not close by. You must define the roles clearing as this will enable each team-member to know what the company is expecting from them respectively. Where this is not clearing stated and assign, success will grind to a halt and mission will be dead on arrival.

·       Evaluate the SWOT system of your team

What are the strength, weakness, opportunity and threat in your business team? Failure to analyze this can be disastrous for success. Therefore you must ensure to examine the strength, weakness, opportunity and threat of your team and assign responsibilities to each person according to their respective strength and opportunity they bring to the business. Moreover you must also look out for any gap of weakness in the team and possible threat so as to ascertain on how to handle the situation. As the leader, you must be courageous and on the task, moreover you must act as a rally point in bringing other members on the path of achieving the business mission.

·       Get your team involved

you must know that you are dealing with human with brain and not machine, so you must get them involve into the day to day running of the business toward achieving business goal. Instead of using the word ‘I’ when talking about the business, use ‘we’ as this will give the team-members a sense of belonging. Moreover you must improve incentives for success. The team must be motivated; they must have something to look out for once success is achieved. The welfare of the team-members should be considered in managing your business-team as this serve as a motivating influence towards achieving target. 

·       Exposition

You must tutor your business team on the mission of the business; they should not work in isolation to the mission of the business. This you do by ensuring that they integrate the personal goals with the mission of the business. There should be series of teachings and seminars at intervals with the team, as this will give everyone the opportunity to ask and receive answers to issues that are not very clearer to them. Moreover you should get them to test and examination on some of these teachings as regard to the mission of the business, as this will help in testing their knowledge and capacity on how to handle issues and challenges without much protocols followings.
